ripple 3
Ok so finally got a ripple effect with the materials on, had to use after effects in order to get the displacement effect working without having a square around the ripple, as the video shows. I can now develope my idea of having a square of water that will ripple all around when it is hit.
ripple 2
After not being able to get the ripple to work my tutor suggested using a displacment effect instead of using the reactor i was currently using, however, with the displacement effect a square appeared during the render as shown in the video.
Ripple 1
After managing to create the ripple effect in 3ds max i tried to add materials to make it look more realistic however the ripple effect didnt come through as you can see from this video.
ripple
After creating the orb i wanted to try n create a ripple effect to make the orb leaving the water more realistic and after some tutorials online i managed to create the effect i was looking for. This video shows the first test render. I will try and put some materials on it when i get into university.

Shoes
ok i know the shoe project i did was a while ago but my memory stick broke so lost most of my work, i found this test render of the shoes so thought i would share it.
Material test 2
I have just discovered a water material in 3ds max and have been insipred to try and recreate the orbs from the film 'The day the earth stood still.' These are just some stills, hopefully be able to add the video clip in a little while.
Material test
I decided to to a couple of tests with materials as we have just completed a materials workshop in 3ds max. These are just some simple teapot and glass combo in order to test out certain materials.
